Meanwhile, a cheeky wager between Mu Deok and the Crown Prince turns pride into a prize, setting up consequences neither of them can shrug off. Calm on top, currents underneath.

It's finally starting to bubble under his calm, stoic surface. On one end he wants to keep having the fake attention he knew was fake from the beginning, but now also because he knows it's the girl he used to have feelings for, he is hoping some of it was true, even if he knows none of it is. It's also because she started the ruse of her being in love with him and it's a convenient excuse for him to keep an eye on her and also it helps explain certain things like the bird whistle to people who cannot find out about her. Since you know, tell danggu a secret and in the next five minutes everyone in the whole country knows it. I see Yul as a still, calm pond that you can see right to the bottom of from the right angle. He has his guard way up all the time because of his lineage but he Wants to be more like his friends who disregard their position all the time (and not at the same time). But here is Mudeok constantly pulling his attention and then not and then again and then not. He is completely falling in love and it hurts to watch, because he really does know he doesn't have the same pull Jang Uk has. And i 💯 agree that Yul would get lost on his way to another body. He would hate the idea so much he would be in distress and he would never find his way back.
