Eren’s journey with the Scout Regiment begins in earnest as Levi and his team take him to a remote castle – a crumbling, abandoned structure that just so happens to have a basement deemed strong enough to contain him... should the worst happen again. It’s not exactly a warm welcome, but it’s the best the Scouts can offer given the current fear surrounding Eren’s Titan powers.

Back at HQ, the remaining cadets face the most pivotal decision of their lives: which regiment to join. Jean, still grieving the loss of Marco, delivers one of the most powerful moments yet as he abandons his original plan to join the Military Police and steps forward to join the Scouts. One by one, many of the others follow suit, showing just how much has changed since their training days.

Meanwhile, Eren is introduced to one of the more eccentric members of the corps – a Commander obsessed with Titan research. Her brutal yet oddly affectionate approach to experimenting on captured Titans is both fascinating and deeply unsettling. But just as she begins to form a curious connection with her “subjects,” something unexpected happens… and her work takes a devastating turn.
