We pick up exactly where we left off—Dong-Gyung frozen in time, a truck hurtling towards her, her life hanging in the balance. With no other option, she takes Doom’s hand and, in doing so, seals the deal: 100 days free from pain, followed by the moment she will be asked to wish for the end of the world.
This episode dives deep into the theme of fate. God tells Doom it’s his destiny to carry the burden of destruction, while Doom passes that weight onto Dong-Gyung, insisting it’s now her fate to end the world. Their dynamic grows more complex, and we begin to see glimpses of the divine forces at play, as well as hints of the loneliness and resignation both characters carry. There’s plenty of mystery still to unravel, but the emotional stakes are already taking hold.
Outside of the supernatural, we get a full helping of chaos and complication:
Dong-Gyung’s ex-boyfriend reacts to her illness news in exactly the wrong way (and somehow manages to make it worse),
The team of bad romance writers try to rationalise their objectively terrible stories,
Her boss continues to be hilariously blunt yet quietly supportive,
And touching scenes with her brother and best friend add depth and weight to Dong-Gyung’s situation, reminding us how much she still has to lose.
There’s a growing sense that, despite the dark premise, this show is really about connection, purpose, and meaning—and episode 2 builds that foundation beautifully. It’s all getting more tangled, and more emotionally charged… and we’re completely in.
