AWSAZ Special Edition Episode 3 – Sungchan & Kun

The celebration of glorious awkwardness continues in this special edition of AWSAZ, featuring Sungchan and Kun—a pairing that, at first glance, might not seem all that awkward. We're told they spent plenty of time together during Sungchan's trainee days, and it’s clear they already have a friendly rapport… which had us wondering: is this going to be too comfortable for AWSAZ?

Turns out, we needn’t have worried. The real chaos this time doesn’t come from the guests, but from the hosts—last episode’s stars Yuta and Xiaojun. They claim their time on the show brought them closer, but let’s just say Xiaojun still seems to be recovering from the trauma of being in the guest seat himself.

Yuta and Xiaojun do everything they can to make things uncomfortable, but Sungchan and Kun’s natural chemistry proves hard to break. The result is less “cringe through your fingers” awkwardness and more lighthearted teasing, sweet interactions, and quietly chaotic moments.

This episode might be one of the least outwardly painful in the series so far, but it’s also one of the most heartwarming and effortlessly entertaining, giving us a better look at the underrated bonds and personalities of all four members.

XIAOJUN AND YUTA ARE SOOOOO AWKWARD!!! Recently one of them (I can’t remember which one) said that they’ve never contacted each other since AWSAZ, and we all had a good laugh about it. And rewatching this I’m like oh yeah no wonder.

I feel like the more awkward pairing would've been Kun and Shotaro, and then also Yuta talking to Shotaro would've seemed more comfortable (though obviously that didn't seem to inhibit him too much with Sungchan). But this was really cute and hopefully made them two closer as a result anyway. Also, I agree that Kun is similar to Suho (though perhaps slightly more competent... though very much equally teased by his members) and very much gives off dad energy.

I feel like you're right that you've definitely spent relatively less time with WayV's actual group dynamics- remember the guide you watched for them was shorter than the other units' and wasn't personality based aswell! The obvious rec is Summer Talk (which is a little less akward than glamping, as it was filmed aftet their long hiatus rather than in the middle of it + includes Ten aswell as a videocall to winwin). For their more fun side and some hilarious anecdotes I'd have to recommend BOTH K-Star Next Door interviews with Jonathan. The first one has 4 members (incl. Winwin) and the second 5 members (sans Winwin) and they're a great time and a good intro to some WayV lore.
