GBRB Spin-Off Episode 5

Kyungsoo’s fried rice is an undeniable hit, while Young Ji continues her part-time role, making sure the cafeteria runs smoothly for both patrons and chefs.
With Young Ji set to leave before dinner service, Kwangsoo and Kyungsoo attempt to recruit a last-minute part-timer from the marketing team. But there’s a catch—they have to earn it through a music quiz duel. Thankfully, Young Ji sticks around to lend a hand, and the duo definitely needs all the help they can get.
As the final dinner service begins, it’s their last chance to impress. With a great menu and plenty of determination, they need to draw in as many customers as possible to fulfil the terms of their contract. Will they pull it off, or will this swan song end on a bittersweet note?

2025-02-23 14:45:41 +0000 UTCI’m watching this again and one thing I loved about the og GBRB was The-Office-inspired filming and editing, so I was really happy that they maintained it in the spinoff as well. I think it fit perfectly in this environment. Getting to know the staff and becoming friends with them was such a nice touch to the show. Now that Na PD hinted at a S2, I can’t imagine them going to a different company! 😭 EggIsComing is our family now! 🥺

2025-02-10 09:25:32 +0000 UTCHonestly this show was such a smart idea on pd Na's part because it provides fans of gbrb a spin-off series with a relatively low budget because they filmed on their own premises, the company got a cafeteria and treated to lovely home cooked meals for 3 days, the ceo got to test run the kitchen and dining area for future cafeteria options, they used all of the potatoes from another show they were filming (promoting it in the process), and generally basically made one massive advertisement for people to work at eggiscoming - showing it as a friendly, informal workplace where people are hardworking and passionate and every now and then you get to meet celebrities. So all around it's quite the win-win.

Calm, actually useful Kyungsoo is the perfect foil for Kwangsoo’s deadpan, less useful vibe. And having Young Ji there was absolutely inspired. They could not have pulled this off without Kyungsoo’s culinary training and army cook experience, but it was the whole mix of people, including the company staff and leadership, and the potatoes, that made it work so well. (Shout out to the marketing department!) I’d love to see them do the cafeteria thing again but I don’t think it’s a multi season kind of show. Looking forward to GBRB S2!

It's so satisfying to see him cook without measuring the ingredients too hahaha But the best moments in all of the episodes for me is them reading the comments. Especially in this last episode: "Seeing you tired broke my heart" that was really touching, I love it so much!

You don't need to watch earlier seasons to understand but its intense, and funny and heart warming and I feel like you would absolutely love it.

I'm also excited for when you guys eventually get around to the OG GBRB. And I still can't believe you'll be doing running man!! I love the show, don't get me wrong, but I hope you have someone telling you which eps are good and which ones are maybe skippable cause wheeew there's over a decade of eps

Not only are we getting GBRB S2 this year, but Kwangsoo was recently casted in Kyungsoo’s new drama The Manipulated (previously known as Sculpture City) AAAHHH!!! In No Prepare, Kyungsoo shared that this will be his first villain role, and then in a Youtube live with Na PD, he revealed that both he and Kwangsoo will be playing villains! 😭😭😭 It’s gonna be SOOOO good! You can’t miss it! I trust that you’ll tune in when it’s out. 😁

2025-02-08 21:51:39 +0000 UTCPotatoes with yogurt is very common for greek/middle eastern dishes. It’s Greek yogurt so it’s not at all sweet. Also american style baked potatoes will be similar except it’s sour cream (plus cheese, bacon etc). What Kwangsoo was doing was this trending thing on sns to smash the boiled potato iwith a mug and bake it til crispy, so it’s like crispier than anormal baked potato. But it’s definitely very Korean/ Asian to add sugar to it. I wouldnt personally put yogurt if it had sugar already… in many asian cuisines you have fried/grilled fruit and veggies like bananas/ sweet potatoes dipped in sugar it’s really so good. And we always have mix of savory and sweet flavors in many dishes. My polish husband found it very weirdat first but he likes it now hahaha.. and yes, Kerry anything with that Korean red pepper paste and red pepper powder like the stir fried pork will be spicy for people who dont normally eat spicy food hehehe.. and the ketchup spaghetti keep in mind it’s meant to be like a kid’s cafeteria dish ahahaha. It looks gross and italians would scream bloody murder about but it’s really something kids love it’s sausages and ketchup how could you not..in our family the “kids birthday party spaghetti” always has sugar and ketchup in it
