I like that the ethical dilemma part wasn’t neatly tied up in a bow with it getting fixed and her guilt assuaged. She needed to learn that hard lesson. What happened to the whale light? Is he going to replace it? (Yes, I’ve seen this before, but I don’t remember what happened yesterday.)

Korea is conservative about family issues, so divorce, children out of wedlock, etc. are extremely bad for public opinion, no matter what gender. It affects women more severely, but it has ended careers for men as well. It's a very common trope in kdramas to use an illegitimate child as a weapon against politicians
