HAREMON CHAPTER 4 (Alpha 0.35)

Hi everyone! I'm pleased to announce that Haremon 0.35 is finally ready for download! It includes the remainder of Chapter 4. Full details in the changelog below, but first, a few points:

As always, thank you ever so much for your continuing support and patience! It's been a long development cycle, but I'm thrilled with what I've been able to create, and I'm excited to get started on Chapter 5!

CHANGELOG (0.35)

Added the rest of Chapter 4. This includes:
- A new story quest line
- A brand-new Haremon, with partial voice acting, and her selfie. Her basic H scene, Lover H scene, and bonding scenes should be added in the next build.
- A new Awakened Haremon, with complete voice acting and an H scene (unlocked during the story).
- A new dungeon with several minigame events
- A new boss fight that introduces tons of new moves
- A new miniboss
- New monsters and recolors
- New items, recipes, meals, etc.
- Over 50 new techniques, and a few new kinks

Other major additions/changes:

- Replaced Ash's selfie CG with a new concept, with completely new art and text.
- Added two new sidequests, obtained during chapter 4.
- Added a new feature: Vengeance. Enemies and Haremon both have a chance to become Vengeful when an ally is KO'd, making their next attack devastatingly powerful.
- Added the rest of the chapter 3 Awakening's voice acting.
- Updated the game's music to use a higher bitrate and stereo playback.
- Added new art for the restaurant and downtown.

Minor additions/changes:

- When viewing a selfie text in your text messaging app, you can now press a button to expand the images.
- Halved the amount of Star Shards you drop on a game over.
- Greatly boosted the amount of shards from defeating bosses (except in VR). The boost is equal to an extra 100% x the boss's chapter.
- Haremon's Affection will now slowly fall the longer they are left in the Ranch. It can't fall below the current Relationship rank, however. This can be slowed greatly by selecting the Relax option.
- Added a letterbox effect on mid-battle cutscenes.
- Changed the name of the Bleeding status to Bloodied. Piercing attacks no longer deal Technical damage on Bleeding targets. Instead, Piercing and Crushing now deal massive damage against Sleeping and Confused targets.
- Added a Battle Module to replay the elevator fight from chapter 3. You can find it the HQ labs.
- Nerfed Flinch. Haremon and monsters can no longer flinch if they've already flinched since taking their last turn.
- Added an option to pause audio when the window loses focus.
- The save/load menu now lets you move the selection from the top to the bottom and vice versa.
- Added a new debug command, "unlimitedpower", which removes the limit for equipping techniques. Use again to toggle off.

Bugfixes:

- Fixed a crash that could happen near the end of Chapter 2 if you have less than 3 Haremon in your party.
- Fixed a bug where having one of your Haremon faint in a certain chapter 4 battle would end the battle and count it as a victory.
- Fixed a bug where enemies could use Manipulation techniques they shouldn't be able to.
- More stuff that I forgot to write down at the time

This build has some memory issues, so running it on a PC with a low amount of RAM causes these issues. Turning off sound improves things because it frees up more memory. I'm trying to fix these issues for this month's build, but until then, you should be fine loading your previous save. I don't think there's any way the memory issues could affect your save file.

So, I dunno if it's just cause my laptop isn't that great or what. But I'm getting an error: ___________________________________________ ############################################################################################ FATAL ERROR in action number 1 of Draw Event for object obj_dungeoncontroller: Memory allocation failed: Attempting to allocate 67108864 bytes at gml_Object_obj_dungeoncontroller_Draw_64 ############################################################################################ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- stack frame is gml_Object_obj_dungeoncontroller_Draw_64 (line -1) It fixes itself if I start the game with no sound whatsoever (and afterwards allows me to put sound on for whatever reason) but also I've found many instances (on the main menu, going to the ranch, or even doing a quest) that all text on screen just disappears. I'm still able to forward the text boxes and click on options despite this, but I'm worried loading my previous save from 34.1.2...

I've been playing with no issues at all but for some reason every time I enter the hell part and fight, my game just freezes and won't respond, I've reset it a couple of times but it's the same result.

0.31 saves are weird and don't like loading into newer builds you'll need to download 0.31.1.1, open your save in that build, save it as a new save, then load THAT into 0.35. you can find 0.31.1.1 here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/55066442

I think I figured out the problem. Went to Nvidia control panel and the auto select had the exe running using the internal graphics card. I forced it to run on the 3080 and the title screen was fixed and so far no dungeon crashing.

tested a couple more times and it happened 10/10 times always right after aqua. Also had another memory leak after a fight. strange, that's usually related to a memory leak but idk how that would happen on the title screen. Good news is it shouldn't happen consistently
