So the whole ‘tsudere’ trope aka a cold hearted, aloof of sorts male lead was a popular concept and well enjoyed at a certain point in time. Like you said, it’s definitely not a trope that has aged well but looking back it did exist and to an extent still does. So what you wish for it to tone done isn’t a possibility. This is more like a long advertisement to get the word EXO out rather than an actual solid plot drama 😂 Ofc we EXO-Ls had like a million different plot lines they could have chosen instead including just their lore, but it is what it is

I wonder how they all actually felt about this script though cos it was written for them and im guessing somewhat roughly based off of their public image?? It reads like a fanfic by a middleschooler it’s so obviously far removed from reality ahahaha. I remember someone mentioning exo mext door years later amd Baekhyun really cringed kn embarrassment and said noooo hahhahaha

2024-08-03 03:56:18 +0000 UTCThis is how much I love EXO - finding the fun in this classic toxic kdrama problematic storyline, actually keeping my eyes open to watch Kyungsoo’s super out of place overly serious acting and Chanyeol’s horrible acting and Kai’s mega cringe acting ahahaha… seriously Sehun is the best part of the show. He’s got that sitcom comedic timing down to a T. He is sooooo gooood. God I love hate EXO Next Door

Maybe checking out their chinese variety show visits as where m and k both went together twice one as 12 then as 11 members its called Happy camp there are subs on yt for both vids(their first visit was the funniest but the one who shall not be named is in it but maybe there is a version where he is edited out a little if its trigering). The bond between tao, sehun and suho was my fav out of all exo miss him.

2024-08-02 19:43:05 +0000 UTCBefore 2017 many kdramas used this kind of 'style'/trope where the main girl would be treated quite shittily by the male lead. They are called the tsundare male lead. He is hot and cold and so on, locks you between his hands against the wall and so on all those bordeline toxic things were quite the big thing back in those kdramam eras. Also in Japan thats were the word tsundare male lead orginated from.
