I say start at the beginning and plow on forward. There will be too many call backs and jokes that you may miss out on in later episodes if you jump around too much. Just my opinion. I will watch with you guys anyway!

I would def say go back to the start. It's not necessary to enjoy them but there are so many in jokes that just add to it when you watch it.

I see a lot of people saying watch the most popular episodes first, I disagree, although there aren’t many going seventeen series that i dislike there is differences in their popularity and it would just a shame to go through all the good ones first and then end off and the not so popular ones.

I personally think start from the start now that you guys have gotten a feel for the show. The very start of GOING seventeen variety series is ep 14 2019. The old episodes are really good and they just get better and better as the years go on!

Yes to start with GoSe 2019 Ep 17 then go from there! I checked and they all have english subs now. But I also agree with 2019 ep 6 and 7 too because you see them share ideas and make the theme songs and the opening credits video.

Option 2! Starting at the beginning would be the best, It will help you understand callbacks that may happen throughout the series.

this is one of my fav episodes for real!! personally my favorite option is to do the ones people rec first, but i know the popular opinion will be to go from the start 😂 my problem with it is that it's gonna take ages to come to the more recent episodes, which i love...maybe you could occasionally jump to the present for special episodes like the more recent ones, or god of light music? anyway whatever you decide it's gonna be fun! also really looking forward to the game caterers episodes (much quicker series to complete lmao)

Oh you're right! Especially ep.4 of 2019! It's just that they don't have full English subtitle until ep.14. For ep.3 & 4 they only have subtitles for crucial parts. (The subtitles are in the video) ep.3 in particular, since the main activity starts at the end of ep.3, before that they only have subtitle during the interview. Could be a little difficult but it's where it all begins : ) Or...maybe watch the ENG sub version by carats for these two. ep.6 & 7 have nearly full subtitles (in the video).

If you choose to go back to the 'beginning' I'd recommend starting with the episodes where GoSe transitioned into the variety type show it is now since that's the content you seem to be vibing with/having fun with! While the earlier episodes are an interesting part of SVT's journey, they're mostly vlog/bts content which isn't the most fun or engaging to do reactions to. 2019 ep 6+7 is where they make the OG GoSe intro and then eps 14+15 are where it becomes the variety type show you're currently enjoying. There have been many polls done within the community already over the years. I think it all depends on how much time you want to commit to the series and whether or not you have a preferred ~era you want to explore. There are pros and cons to every option tbh!

I agree it is good to pick up from the beginning. Everybody is saying to go back to Ep. 6 and 7 of 2019, but I think 3 and 4 also show the first ideas for the show and some iconic jokes. Anyways, in 2019 there are still some vlogs / behind the scenes in between the variety episodes, so just check beforehand.

If you’re taking the completionist approach, you’ll want to start in 2019. Potentially you could start from… *EP 6-7 as a special one-off option* In early 2019, the boys started brainstorming ideas for transforming Going Seventeen into a variety show rather than their behind the scenes vehicle. Watch these two eps if you want to see as the members write produce and film their little theme song for Going Seventeen which could be a cute little starting point. And then either SKIP ALL THE WAY TO… (Or if you just want to start from the actual beginning of the variety show start from…) EITHER *EP. 14–16 MBTI OF SEVENTEEN* They begin the transition into a different format. Not everyone's fav as Ep. 14 is talk heavy as they’re taking MBTI tests but gives interesting insight into members' personalities if you’re interested in getting to know the boys rather than just looking for laughs. Plus, with a hidden camera prank in the latter two parts, the energy picks up! OR *EP. 17-18 ESCAPE SINGING ROOM* Members compete to get a perfect score and escape the karaoke room. A fun one as the concept shifts more fully into the Variety Show space, albeit with a simple concept. And then, EP. 19 onwards is full-on classic Going Seventeen, some of the best and most beloved episodes!

Apologies for a long comment- the TLDR summary is go with either the completionist or best-hits only approach! But my POV as to why: ** Option 2, Completionist Approach ** The best way to get the full GoSe experience and follow the boys on their journey. THE CONS- The only reason NOT to do this, is if you're worried about dedicating the time to what is kind of a big commitment. If you want to go back and watch all of GoSe at some point anyway going in order is your best bet. There are classic episodes from 2019/2020 we would probably be more excited about watching with you compared to newer releases, so don't feel pressured to catch up super fast! ** Option 3, Carat Guided Best Hit Episodes ** THE CONS- Missing some inside jokes/ context / callbacks that span episodes or seasons that can increase the fun, some potential confusion. I'd say do this if you think you don't have any intention to watch all of Going Seventeen in its entirety as its too much of a time commitment- if that's the case, then this is the best way to enjoy the show. **The worst choice is Option 1, Watching From Season 5 ** You've kind of got the worst of both worlds here, you'd be missing some context and inside jokes from earlier seasons that make the show more fun, you'd be bouncing around back and forth to catch certain recurring shows which could get confusing + you'd still be spending time on less-beloved episodes when there are some classic hitters from previous seasons you will have missed etc. I'll put my advice on where to start if you're going with the 2019 Completionist approach in a reply to this comment...

I do think you should watch the most popular ones first but I do suggest starting from the beginning because there is a lot of things you will miss such as inside jokes and such.

I would suggest option 2 and go back to 2019 going seventeen from episode 6 and 7 this is where they come up with the going seventeen intro and outro songs it’s a good beginning and then skip to episode 14 and this is the beginning of the variety episodes we have now

If you go back, I'd say start at 2019 episode 6-7 (gose theme song making) and then officially episode 14 MBTI. If you continue the season you already started, you'll have to do a lot of jumping back and forth as there are at least 5 continuation series if not more.

i think once you've caught up to the end of 2020 going seventeen, you can watch the 5th year anniversary video + the left & right part switch again and see if you can pick any of the references up haha

My preference would be starting from "Going Seventeen 2019 Ep.17 (Escape Singing Room)" or just from Going Seventeen 2020 Ep 1. Going Seventeen 2020 has too many good episodes to skip. And a lot of later episodes have references to earlier episodes and come become a mess. But the option 3 of cherry picking episodes wouldn't be a bad idea either. Maybe cherry picking series but in order since the beggining? Like putting each series in polls whether to skip or not? But that would probably be too controversional since different people just like different things. But it is an option that could be experimented with.

yes i think from ep 14 onwards of going 2019 is like the start of the Going Seventeen we know today. and ofc ep 6,7 are needed!! i think even 3,4 are should be watched/reacted because of the inside jokes from this

Also yes this is a legendary episode haha. ----- Also my personal suggestion would be to go back and start from GoSe 2019, because A) There might be some older episode references and B) You will soon come across Debate Night Season 3 and InsomniaZero Season 2 and again you'll have to go back (there might be others which I am missing too). Also I am not sure if it's possible and this isn't one of the questions you asked but if I may suggest how about watching both parts of an episode together if you wanna catch up sooner? Like both Don't Lie3 Part1 and Part2 at once. Just a suggestion incase it's possible.~

i think starting with going 2019/2020. like the end of 2019 (playground, mbti, ttt) and then 2020 would be better than doing the new stuff. theres too much inside jokes/you need to understand in the beginning to watch new stuff.
