This is in essence how Jim Carrey elevated his career. He was Friends with Damon Wayans, featured in this film. Jim and Damon were in the comedy clubs before "Earth Girls..Jim was actually a popular upcoming comic. Damon brought Jim to the attention of his brother Keenen , which landed Jim Carrey on In Living Color in 1990 taking Jim Carrey from B movies to a prime time weekly slot on Fox.
