Besides all the random doodling, I worked out the beginnings of Otter Boys Last All Summer Long. Which I thought was a super clever title but I never got any acknowledgement for it :P I'm sure Juno's continuing to grow her collection of dick selfies, I just haven't done my part in documenting it.
This was also a time when I was moving from just "feeling out" color composition or using the most obvious palette to putting some real thought into it. For the most part, I feel like my color choice up till then had been pretty straightforward and literal, and while this sort of thing doesn't happen overnight, I became a little more adventurous in that way.
And yeah, I'm using a mix of grey and purple pens here. It started as a way to tell apart base layers and additions to them, but I slipped into the habit of using purple more and more. Just cause it makes everything feel more lively.

I had the idea that dark spots can have a little border of color where they meet the surrounding fur, making it a little cooler than just like brown/grey to black. For a more psychedelic picture this might be worth an actual try...
