Catch of the Day

For an otter, there is no better way to slay a salmon.

Wherever the new year finds you, I wish you a kind and generous one. Even when turbulence and uncertainty are the order of the day, I believe any upward trend is something to be thankful for. This year was way better for my art life regarding productivity and personal growth. Even if I haven't shared all of what I've created yet I'll be post everything in the coming months. Hey, it's nice to have just a small backlog. This year also gave me the opportunity to visit iPoke for the first time, an awesome artist and friend who's taught me a few things about tonal composition. Since the pandemic I've been traveling a lot less than usual, but that trip might signal a change for the coming year. As far as travel plans go, I'm hoping to attend both TFF and FWA in 2024, with other cons in the maaaaybe list -- if you're going to either, let me know!

Plans for the Patreon are to finally make good on a request I've heard from multiple individuals, and that's to post sketches I've been personally labeling "too messy" for public consumption. Pretty much every finished piece I post starts as a collection of small, unrefined exploratory sketches, and whenever I've showed them off I've been encouraged to put them online. Guess we'll see how well that's received when I actually do! :P

Happy New Year, and thanks for following my artistic meanderings in this world of naked animal people <3

I feel like I had a kind of otter revelation in this one. I wanted her features to look more timeless and regal, and somehow she just ended up looking more "otter".

Good lord she’s gorgeous in color! And I already loved the sketch so much! I love the dirty golden fur color so much. I’m looking forward to all of your “messy” sketches too. And have a happy new year!

Beautiful picture and pose, I love the alert, wary look ❤️! Happy New Year

This turned out really well. Quite the big evolution from your older works of your otter.
