"Heart of the Woods"
Added 2018-08-29 00:25:17 +0000 UTCWhen I set up an art trade with LuthienNightwolf a flood of ideas came to me, all of them set deep in a very natural, timeless forest environment. How to render that environment on paper was something else though . . . I ended up settling on a combination of watercolor and marker (the latter becoming especially helpful in the darker, more saturated areas) with a bit of an emphasis on the depth of the scene. I've known Luthien's work for a looong time, and of course loved her natural (and naturist) themes. The character herself is also just a joy to draw :)
For her part of the trade, she drew my Juno and her Maraschino, having fun with paint . . .

This is one of my favorites from you by far. Even though it's totally innocent, Kalahari and Luthien make such a beautiful pair, and the background is simply breathtaking. I love Kalahari's expression, too. He looks kind of overwhelmed, but so very sweet. He's one of the cutest foxes around, and Luthien is a beautiful wolf and you made them both look gorgeous!
