I saw a comic con panel with Flannery and Reedus and they confirmed that there was a script for a third movie, but they did not like it at all and turned it down. They tried to work with Duffy to change it, but it didn't work out. That was nearly 10 years ago so who knows if they are reconsidering it or not.
