You know if you think about it, this movie damaged Whistler's character in a way toward Blade. Thought of Blade as a son but not enough to let him interact with his daughter in anyway shape or form. It could either be didn't want to risk her life if anything ever happened with Blade or he didn't trust Blade enough to be around her for one reason or another. Kinda sucks since Whistler's backstory was a strong origin story.
