If you haven't seen it, I think 12 Monkeys, the TV series, would be an incredible show for Mr and Mrs TV to watch. Yes, there's brain-busting time travel, but it's about the drama and suspense (although it is also peak science fiction). It even scratches a Lost/Mike Flanagan itch.
