Yes the first 4 eps of season 3 are slow But I doubt that’s why it was cancelled, the writing was on the wall at S2 that this show wouldn’t go long. But you’re right it picks up dramatically in the next 3 eps. I wanna you guys to ask yourself “what do you think this season will be about?” S1 was about Hannibal screwing with Will S2 was Will trying to expose Hannibal while being seduced by his freedom. S3 so far is adapting Hannibal the book/movie with little easter eggs of Hannibal rising. But not a real adaptation since rising is set long before any of the other stories and isn’t directly explained in any of the other books or adaptations…. Since Hannibal rising was the last book written. The studio said to Thomas Harris we want to make a movie about Hannibal’s origin, he said to explain his origin is to diminish the character, they said they’d do it with or without him, so Harris reluctantly agreed to write a prequel book so they would have something to base the screenplay off of. It’s universally seen as the weakest book and movie in the franchise
