Mistake on Harris part Will and Hannibal are enemies Where Hannibal and clarice are more like romantic characters. Personally I prefer the enemies story where the good guy is very like the bad guy except just a bit better. Like Batman vs the joker. Only difference is Batman has self control and ethics.

I believe there is a mention of him in the Silence of the Lambs novel but Thomas Harris is more obsessed with the character of Clarice Starling. Speaking of Clarice, you guys should definitely check out the Clarice TV show. It takes place a year after Silence of the Lambs. They couldn’t use the character of Hannibal but it does involve several characters from Silence of the Lambs and it’s only 13 episodes. And it’s not artsy fartsy, so that would please Mrs Movies 😉
