I completely understand the Mrs reaction cause watching this for the first time can be rough when that tuck scene comes up. That being said this is up there for my favorite reactions ever cause I love this movie and I don't think I've ever seen anybody react so viscerally to that scene.

This movie was freakin trauma. Not as much when I first saw it as a kid as when I was a truck driver (5 years) AND a Ramones fan (still am), the company would route me through these little towns in like Ohio or Arkansas or some-fgn-where that the houses were right up on the damn road. That shit legitimately stressed me out and I would always think of this damned movie

Kinda cool that the same kid ended up being the radio DJ in Tropic Thunder. Lol

The movie never really scared/affected me much, but probably because I had already found the book so unsettling. I read King books ravenously as a youth, and had this one under my belt long before I saw the movie. But, I loved Fred Gwynne, especially his delivery of "Sometimes... dead is better." and Gage will always be one of my favorite creepy, horror movie kids.

This film ain't perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but I've always loved it (it's one of my favourite King books too). Church's terrifying meow after he comes back still gets me every time and I defy anyone not to be creeped out by Zelda. Gage Creed's death is one of the all time devastating moments in the movies, it's absolutely horrific. Miko Hughes was 2 years old making this, it really is a remarkable performance (he's hilarious and still adorable in Kindegarten Cop too btw). Sorry Mrs had such a tough time with this one. Gotta love that Ramones track though:) Edit - Oh yeah, an older Miko Hughes also played Heather Langenkamp's son in New Nightmare.
