I was really surprised how funny this was the first time I watched it, I'd deliberately avoided it for so long because I assumed it was exactly what they made fun of it being, so hilariously self aware, great writing and Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum are a great duo (sequel is more of the same btw, highly recommend). I don't remember the show too well, but I do remember how much all the girls at school swooned over Johnny Depp and his jewelry on those Teen Beat magazine covers lol, that's why I laughed when in character he mentioned his bracelets and trying to look cool as he was dying. And Hoffs as the motor pool sergeant was a nice touch too.
