I like Balboa, I don't think it's the best but it's a solid movie - it is, weirdly, arguably the most boxing-legitimate movie of the lot and has the most plausible story; to get the split Dixon has to half-ass his training and break his hand the whole thing is entirely possible, really. There's plenty of legitimate boxing names in the movie too. If Rocky wins that fight it's basically the end of boxing though lol, that alone is a reason not to license it and I suspect in the real world that fight would have been stopped after like the second knock down, but then that's always been true of the Rocky movies - a lot of the fights should and would have been stopped, not just in the modern era but back when too. Gonna be interesting to see what you both make of Creed. It also follows in the footsteps of this and keeps the legitimacy levels high. I have a question - has Mr Movies ever seen Southpaw? One of my favourite boxing movies - though I am a sucker for Forest Whitaker movies.

The highlights shown prior to his fight with Rocky are actual highlights of his fights. Funny enough, he would get humbled in his next fight when he lost his title to a 41 year-old Bernard Hopkins.
