2022-11-22 05:00:25 +0000 UTCTo this day I love that RDJ was Oscar nominated, people would be up in arms just for that role existing now, but yeah. I think you could make the movie now, but RDJ's role, definitely not, although the style of movie generally fallen out of favour. Also I don't think so much that it references Apocalypse Now so much as it references the disaster that was the making of Apocalypse Now - although that story is so insane I don't think you can really cover it in an absurd comedy. Favourite moment, the "okay flaming dragon -- f**k face [..]" scene. Tom Cruise did an interview where he was saying that the whole studio exec thing was his idea and then when Stiller asked him to read the script he demanded to play the role.
