2022-11-22 02:22:11 +0000 UTCGod you could never make this movie today. Which is kinda a shame because the movie is making fun of these people but…context has lost its place in society. I’m guessing the Mrs hasn’t known many addicts. Jack Black’s jaw movement is something a lot of addicts do. One of the hardest laughs I’ve ever had(disappointed it wasn’t included in this reaction edit but you can’t have em all) is the “strap me to a fuckin tree!” line. Robert Downey Jr just kills it in this movie. Him & Jack black are amazing in this. There’s a whole behind the scenes “documentary” on the blu ray where it shows his character preparing for the movie. It’s hilarious. There’s a lot of “inside baseball” comedy in this movie that unless you are super familiar with the entertainment industry some of it can kinda go over your head. The production of “Apocalypse Now” being a prime example. I’ve heard rumours that each main character is based off an actual actor. Some are obvious & specific. But Alpa is suppose to be based off of Jamie Foxx, including his “secret”.
