ending really annoyed me i feel cheated i hate tony and his family and i wanted to see the four of them dying

Well because it's much better aged (see all the discussion everywhere for like over a decade) and more unique. Who just wants a normal wacking scene that we've seen a million times on this show and in other mafia stories? This was so unique for a series ending that it's aged so well. Nothing else really looks like this ending decades later.

I mean tony dies fundamentalists keep using this argument but that wasn’t the ending scene they actually went with lol. They did a fade to black so the ambiguity is still there. They would have just shown him shot and his face slumped in onion rings if they wanted it to be a nondebated issue.

"Because the end scene I had in my mind was not that scene. Nor did I think of cutting to black. I had a scene in which Tony comes back from a meeting in New York in his car. At the beginning of every show, he came from New York into New Jersey, and the last scene could be him coming from New Jersey back into New York for a meeting at which he was going to be killed. Yeah. But I think I had this notion—I was driving on Ocean Park Boulevard near the airport and I saw a little restaurant. It was kind of like a shack that served breakfast. And for some reason I thought, “Tony should get it in a place like that.” Why? I don’t know. That was, like, two years before." ~~David Chase

Anyone saying that they "know" what really happens at the end is just making things up. Just like the ending of THE THING, the story is meant to end cryptically and without resolution, and the fan theories about what "must have" happened are nothing more than guesses. We're leaving Tony still in the middle of his story, just like how we met him. The show creator David Chase is on record refuting all the "clues" and saying fans were WAY overthinking this.

For a long time one of the running theories about the ending is nobody died and the concept was to make you feel how Tony must have felt all the time. Watching everyone, everyone is a suspicious person etc.....the anxiety of it all is the point. But a lot of people also say Tony was killed because of not hearing the gun shot and his previous conversation with Bobby. Also, another hint Tony died was that in previous scenes where Tony was shot we saw hallucinations, dreams etc.... this time it was all black. Another thing I heard is that Meadow previously saved Tony from going into the light when he was in his coma standing outside the house with Tony B he hears Meadows voice. This time because Meadow was delayed getting in the restaurant it's possible had she walked in a few seconds earlier she would have seen the guy with the gun and screamed or done something to alert everyone.
