Nice one not many are familiar with, good watch along with hunt for red October and platoon. Navy has their own group of aviation for fleet defense that almost exclusively flies off carriers although there are some exceptions. Marines have aviation as well. Midway, new one and the original are excellent navy movies for WWII, Memphis Belle is another excellent wwii watch about the rarely covered bombers.

2022-11-09 03:13:56 +0000 UTCHaven't watched yet, but thank you so much for this one🤘 (edit) and now that I've watched it here's what I've got: I had the same reaction when I first saw it. I always thought it was Brad Johnson's acting, but now I think there's a longer version of this movie somewhere. It gets better the more you watch it, though. A lot of short dialogue that explains things. Yes, Marines work together with the Navy. There are Marine pilots and Naval pilots but I don't know the details on what separates 'em 🤷🏻♂️ Now I'm getting curious if Top Gun: Maverick borrowed a few things from this movie 🤔 Oh yeah, AMF=Audios Mother Fucker and We Were Soldiers is an underrated war movie gem
