I think ring is a good watch lots of tension but I never found it that scary personally I feel like ghost/haunting stuff usually gets to me more like insidious since IRL ghosts are a ? but I know for a fact a chick aint gonna crawl out my TV :D

While I do love the digital effect of Samara coming out of the TV, there’s something to be said about the Japanese version having a physical woman crawl out of a tv in Ringu.

I'd say, each stand on it's own. But yeah, can't think of many remakes and re-adaptations, where the remake comes anywhere close to the original.

When I was a teenager, the blood vessels in my nose were very close to the surface, which allowed me to trigger a light nosebleeds pretty much on command. I freaked so many of my friends out, whenever watching the movie with them for the first time.

I think this remake is better than Ringu. Stylistically it’s far superior and it trims a bit of the fat from the story. Fun Fact: Martin Henderson who played Noah in this film played Wayne the porn producer in the movie X. I almost didn’t recognize him. You guys made me die laughing at the end btw, the Mrs popping out of the well was hilarious.

One of the few cases where I actually like the remake more than the original. Loved your little joke at the very end when Mrs. Movies came out of the well.

I watched The Ring and Ringu within a couple of weeks together. Comparing the two and turning them into my own film class. I haven't seen the Ring for years until Ashley's recent reaction. Funny story about Ring 2: I saw it in 2 different movie theaters, one in Sandpoint Idaho, and the other in Berkeley, CA. There is a scene involving deer, and what the crowd was yelling at the screen was night and day. CA- "Run it has evil rabies and fleas, ewww scary forrest" ID- "Where's your gun rack?!! Look at the points on that buck!!!!!"

When my sister first watched this back in 2002, she had a nosebleed in the first week after watching 😱😂
