The set for this movie was amazing and fun

2022-10-23 16:44:50 +0000 UTCGreat reactions, guys! Your back and forth and asides were just as funny as the movie itself and added to the fun. Teri Garr was also Richard Dreyfuss’s wife in “Close Encounters of the Third Kind”. Gene Hackman volunteered to play the blind man for free as he wanted to try some comedy. Also, I think Mel Brooks didn’t do a cameo in this movie as an agreement with Gene Wilder to do the film. My favorite actor in the movie has to be Marty Feldman (Igor). I saw the film in the theater when it first came out (1974) and the audience was rolling in the aisles. To this day, anytime I’m introduced to someone named “Abbie”, or there is a character named such, the “Abbie Normal” scene runs through my head. If you want to see more of Gene Wilder, Madeline Khan and Marty Feldman, check out “The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes’ Smarter Brother”. A comedy (obviously) directed by Gene Wilder (his directorial debut). No Mel Brooks.
