For the record, Tony and Adriana were almost certainly going to bang. They were going to Dover to get cocaine, but that was just an excuse to make themselves feel better/more justified/less responsible for their actions. That raccoon is the only thing that stopped it from happening. You can basically read it on Tony's face the entire episode. He feels crazy guilty about it, even when he's powerfully denying that he would ever do such a thing. He knows what he was going to do and Christopher can see it in his face. That's why it was so hard to convince him. In the end, though, Christopher wants to believe his Uncle, so he does. Y'know, eventually.
