I HATE A.J. but A.J. is a little piece of shit because Carmela refused to let Tony smack the kids around to punish them. Junior was crying because YES he loves Tony and the entire point of that whole sequence was a metaphor of how men communicate, especially guys like this and Italians. They couldn't just come out and just say it they had to dance around it, but once Tony said that and Junior confirmed it Tony realized how much Jr. loved him, Remeber Jr. was more like a dad to Tony than Tony's dad. Jr. would play catch with him all the time and take him to ball games. This is all circling back to the first season (highlighting their relationship)
