When Christopher and Adriana find Brendan's body in his apartment, the TV is playing an episode of the 1970s TV show KOLCHAK: THE NIGHT STALKER. This show was the first TV gig for SOPRANOS creator/showrunner David Chase and the episode was one he wrote. KOLCHAK was about an investigative reporter (played by Darren McGavin, best known today as the father from A CHRISTMAS STORY) who kept stumbling across vampires, mummies, zombies and other supernatural monsters. It was a major inspiration for THE X-FILES, which was peaking in popularity right when THE SOPRANOS premiered. I believe the episode in question was about a werewolf on a cruise ship. The '70s were weird.
