Yes, Drew is part of the Berrymore acting dynasty with Lionel being her great uncle.

One of the best films of the 1940s. Actually, it might be my favorite as I like this better than Casablanca and Citizen Kane. The film makes many important points ranging from awareness of depression and family struggles but also the fact that many hard working people are not getting the respect or standard of living that they deserve.

Absolutely a must watch every year. A truly beautiful film with great lessons.

Yes, Drew is from THAT Barrymore family. John was her grandfather, Lionel was her great-uncle and Ethel was her great-aunt. All three were famous onstage & the brothers started in the silents.

Thank you for sharing.

This movie I have seen every Christmas since I was a baby. I always understood the meaning pretty well. But several years ago I tried to commit suicide. So ever since then the movie is much more impactful to me. Because I felt what he felt. So when he prays to live again, I canโ€™t make it without bawling.
