2021-12-10 06:27:21 +0000 UTCFor years I thought Hannibal was decent, but I just rewatched it and I was flabbergasted at how poorly it stands up next to Silence of the Lambs. Since I've never liked Red Dragon very much (Fiennes, Watson, and Hoffman are good, the rest is thoroughly mediocre), I hope you consider checking out Michael Mann's Manhunter instead, which is a much better version of the Red Dragon story. It doesn't have Hopkins as Lecter (or Lecktor, in that movie), but it's still great.

2021-12-08 02:19:03 +0000 UTCYeah, Hannibal was just ok. I think Jodie Foster turned the movie down but they needed someone to play Clarice or no movie. I liked Manhunter, which was the first adaptation of Red Dragon, and directed by Michael Mann.

Liked the realistic lighting and claustrophobic feel of the first film? FUCK YOU here's a bunch of (somehow) well lit spacious caverns! I voted Red Dragon, which I enjoyed.

Hannibal is one of the weaker sequels in my opinion. You guys did not react to Kiss the Girls (1997)? Because Along Came A Spider is the sequel to that with Morgan Freeman reprising the same role.
