2021-08-17 21:54:03 +0000 UTCI think Dexter "loves" Hannah in a sense, he's mostly obsessed/infatuated with her, but he also feels bad for her through empathy for what she went through as a teen and child which leads Dexter to feel compassion towards her, but he's buying into what she says too much, he's too trusting, once again i state I am team Deb all the way on this one, what Deb said is accurate, you can't trust her, she will kill again, it's what she does and that's not going to change even if she "loves" Dexter she is still dangerous to Dexter and everyone around her.

2021-08-17 21:52:06 +0000 UTCYeah exactly, it goes with what happened in the previous scene when Harry was telling Dexter the "dark passenger" is something Dexter just made up to justify an excuse for killing, he realized he was being hypocritical to kill the guy he was about to kill whilst giving him a speech about how the guy he was accusing was wrong, that on top of probably feeling bad for the guy because clearly he has mental problems, plus what you said about letting the police and Deb get him, all cumulatlively led to the better option to let the police take the guy because Dexter realized he didn't have to kill him to satisfy a "need" that he made up to justify an excuse to kill to feel in control, the police taking the guy still keeps him from killing and Dexter is still in control and has the decision to make that sealed that guy's fate one way or another so i'm sure he still got a little thrill out of it.

You have to take responsibility for what you've done" is that he realized that he could be talking about himself. That's why he didn't kill the Phantom.

2021-08-17 20:05:08 +0000 UTCI definitely think Dexter loves Hannah, the amount of change he went through because of her shows the kind of impact she has on him. It was so sad to lose Isaac, he was a worthy adversary/companion to Dexter. Like he said, if they met in different circumstance he and Dexter would have been great friends. On to the finale, can't wait!
