I think this show has always been heavily influenced by Freudian psychology. This would also explain the whole ‘Deb being in love with Dexter and repressing those feelings’ storyline. It is definitely weird, and Freud isn’t really taken so seriously anymore. But I am guessing that is the influence.

2021-07-30 06:02:55 +0000 UTCthe whole religious say story seemed to have no lasting point with dexter, deb and her shrink stuff was bad, i didn't buy travis not knowing he killed Gellar. i was super worried about ending but loved loved the first half of season 7. Plus i love Sarah from Chuck being in this and doing some different.

2021-07-30 00:29:13 +0000 UTCI love Deb as a character and i know a lot of people dont like the "incest" storyline that we got but i kind of like that she got it honestly, she's such an utmost great actress, to lay that EXTRA dimension to her character that the actress has to convey on top of everything else. You'll forget you're watching a show and think this is a real person really dealing with such troubled thoughts as does she really believe she's in love with her adopted brother.

He's a good character, he has a believable presence as a boss like Tywin Lannister from game of thrones. Plus he's super funny, he lowkey has some of the best lines in the show.

2021-07-29 21:38:00 +0000 UTCI think everyone thought that the whole brotherly love idea was weird. 😂 For me post Trinity seasons, season 7 is the best. It raises the bar clearly. I liked season 6 overall better then 5 because season 5 was underwhelming after the insanity of season 4. Season 6 biblical murders, Brother Sam, Dexter questioning his belief in a higher power, Debras storyline and the shock of her seeing Dexter's dark passenger were highlights. I can't wait for the season 7 reactions! 😱

2021-07-29 20:20:07 +0000 UTCI didn't watch this when it was running live so I, like you, didn't have to wait a year. Just imagine having to wait a year! Yikes! Most fans hated the Deb loves Dexter storyline but there were a few who "shipped" them. Egads! MCH and JC were only technically still married. Their divorce was final just after this season ended. Thank goodness we are through with 6. I LOVE season 7!
