The Mrs. gets a little frustrated with the Fifth Season of Dexter with Episodes 5 & 6 ("First Blood" & "Everything Is Illumenated").

Also Michael C hall said hes rejected a handful of scripts. So not to get into it for the sake of spoilers I reckon its gonna be great!

I was honestly frustrated with this season too. But I love Julia Stiles and this season has great moments. The 6th season is much better

Nothing in Dexter is actually believable. MCH said Dexter would have to have the power of invisibility, super strength, etc for ANY of it to be true. Its pure fantasy.

The guy who plays Quinn is in the movie Ghost Ship, which is where i first saw him, i saw it before he showed up in Dexter which really threw me off.

Robocop is supposed to be a sci-fi movie but i think it's one of the scarier movies to me, the robots in it are pretty creepy, the thoughts of robots going around killing people is pretty scary in the creepy way since they can't be reasoned with and are hard to stop almost like how Terminator was supposed to be. I think this was just supposed to be a fun/funny episode that lightens the mood after the previous somber macabre morbid episodes/season, while still setting the stage for what's to come by weaving story elements together. I think the guy that Lumen shot called the police to report the shooting from the payphone, he didn't have a phone, he was calling his accomplices from Lumen's phone. I don't blame Quinn any for investigating Dexter, any more than I blame Doakes, it's their job and even though Dexter is their colleague they just inherently are passionate in their pursuit of truth/justice and solving things. I don't fault Quinn for that and I don't think he's a bad guy or character.

Don't worry. She gets over this issue pretty quickly thanks to Julia Stiles ;)

Darn, ridiculous or not, this is one of my favorite episodes because it is so fun (I'm talking 6). Yes, Clyde Philips left after 4 and is now the showrunner for season 9. Also, remember that MCH was in "remission" from cancer, that doesn't necessarily mean cure and the writers and producers had to improvise a lot, not knowing what they might be facing. The writers used the name Weller when writing the plot out because Peter Weller was who they had in mind for the role of Liddy. They changed the name when they actually got the actor for the role. When Lumen was describing what had happened to her and said she felt she might be paying the price for wanting more for her life, she was exactly describing what happened to Dexter for "wanting it all". I sure hope y'all like the rest of the season better cause I love it and with season 6 "looming" it may be difficult for y'all to see it through. PLEASE hang in there til the end!!!

I think this was where the main show writer left

Lusanda Ndabandaba

The 2-main writers of seasons 1-4 left the project, and that's why the show seems so different. I won't say worse, just different. Luckily, they are returning to write season 9, from what I understand. Here's to making season 9 just as epic as season 4!
