I've noticed lately, especially with the newest chapters with Aleski and Kalan--it's really neat how disarming you've managed to make Aleski, while still keeping it believable when he is shown to be capable. Ugh, when this comic is complete I can totally see character studies/breakdowns of him. Cause you've made arguably one of the most dangerous characters introduced so far feel SO safe (and theres ofc the question of if he does that on purpose or not, subconscious or not). As much as he puffs his chest here and there, he *feels* like a safe person. I think some romance authors try really hard to create the monster-lover character and end up just making a jerk who *might* apologize sometimes for awful behavior, or they might declaw their monster, but you've SO nailed the balance. He doesnt act like a domineering prick cause hes an angsty monster who cant help it, hes just a dude who also happens to be a big ole wolf with bug ole teeth, he can't help how society takes that so hes just gonna vibe and be an obnoxious cutie who concedes and is obviously a bit more of a bleeding heart social bunny than one would assume a werewolf would be. BUT you also dont soften his edges too much. You let him kill things, let him taunt a little, let him have his range of emotions. So when the time comes for a moment like here, where a kind of ferality rears its head, it feels both surprising and earned. Its a reminder both that Aleski has his own past and his own buttons to push, and that he is not your family dog, he's a wolf, he has teeth, he has and will taste blood. UGH, love it. And your art only conveys the...theme?..even better. You're an amazing storyteller franky. Sorry I know I have these 1000 word gushes like every 50 pages but its so nice being able shout things I love about a work directly at the author. 😅
