2025-09-22 18:19:06 +0000 UTCI think it is safe to mention this now: In the VN, you (Okarin) are given the choice not to time leap back and keep Suzuha's memories with the gang intact. With this choice, Okarin doesn't find an answer to Mayuri's death. So instead, he escapes it. He time leaps a few days back and spends those days hanging out with everyone + Suzuha again and again, so that Suzuha's happiness exists and Mayuri doesn't die. He repeats this few days for like hundreds maybe thousands of times, that he remembers every line and everything that happens. He gets a bit crazy, depressed and manic due to the constant loop - his version of groundhog's day. There's a part of the loop that he stops Daru before he gets hit by a truck, but since he's out of it now he wonders what if he doesn't stop him - to just experience something different, see Daru die. There's also a weird part later, where he suddenly lusts over Suzuha, saying he can get away with whatever he does with her since he will just time leap back. Got pretty disturbing. By the end, Suzuha notices Okarin behaving odd and figures out that he has been timeleaping over and over again. Suzuha asks Okarin to come with her to 1975 and he does. The VN ends.
