Totally agree that there's a really specific beauty in the simplicity of this anime - not overly flashy, but it's got a sort of timeless and really beautiful look to it. Newer animation styles seem to rarely capture this amount of character and expression. Maybe it's just anime from the early/mid 2000s or maybe it's the vibe of Monster in particular, but it feels visually nostalgic and comforting.
