ALL NEW UPDATES!
Added 2021-12-02 15:55:37 +0000 UTCHi guys! As I haven’t been posting the last updates here on Patreon, I wanted to make a compilation of everything new from the last one (3.2) till this day (3.8) so that you know all of the new textures that I added. I know some of you guys like the insight on the process of each texture, so I’ll try my best to keep posting everything here!
In regard with the last one, the 3.8 update, as I mentioned in the #progress-pics channel on my Discord, these weeks I’ve been in and out of dentists and hospitals figuring out some annoying stuff related to my headaches and wisdom teeth, so it has been difficult for me to get the job done on time. However, I have been working non stop whenever I had a chance and I want to share all the news! This may not be the biggest update, but I've also been working on more stuff (I’ll explain more about this later on)
So... let’s see what's new:
NEW BLOCKS
NAPP 3.3
Deepslate: Instead of a 4x4 grid (like stone) I've designed all the deepslate textures on a 2x2 grid, so there is substantially less maps (better performance) and still feels bigger and with less repetition
Deepslate ores: coal, copper, diamond, emerald, gold, iron, lapis and redstone! working in the 2x2 system with 4 variants of each ore (so 32 variants in total)
NAPP 3.4
new Stone: Also, like deepslate, I've designed all the stone textures on a 2x2 grid, so there is substantially less maps (better performance) and still feels bigger and with less repetition
new Stone ores: coal, copper, diamond, emerald, gold, iron, lapis and redstone! working now in the 2x2 system with 4 variants of each ore (so 32 variants in total)
Polished deepslate: Trying to keep the vanila style and colors
Cobbled deepslate: I tried to give it a unique look with the horizontal erosion pattern to differentiate it from blackstone and regular cobblestone
NAPP 3.5
new Stone bricks/Cracked stone bricks/Mossy stone bricks/Chiseled stone bricks: Big improvement in the quality and the feel of all the stone stuff.
Deepslate bricks: I followed the same pattern and shape as the stone bricks but with a unique look to match the deepslate family.
Deepslate tiles: A tricky one to get, I wasn't getting the right feel and took me a while, but i love the result.
NAPP 3.6
Budding Amethyst: for this one I just broke the center, just as in the original one, using as a base the original Amethyst texture.
Chiseled Deepslate: In this case, I have used the original design to base it on, but I gave it a more detailed concept so that I could spice it up a little.
Cracked Deepslate bricks: Here we have the good old Deepslate bricks with some cracks in them.
Cracked Deepslate tiles: Aaand again, here we have the same design as in the Deepslate tiles but, in this case, with some additional cracks in them.
Tuff: To make this design, I based it on the original real-life stone. Even though I know that the original texture looks a little like a cobbled stone, I chose to go for a more realistic option, breaking the pattern a little bit more to give it a more volcanic appearance.
new Bricks: As I mentioned on Discord, I have been working on a custom tool on Substance Designer to ease the creation of bricks and tiles-related textures. One of the blocks that I have been wanting to redesign for a while now is the regular Brick’s one, one of the first ones that I made, once when I started with this project.
This is the first texture that I use to test this new tool, so I’m pretty excited. Also, I have hidden a little Easter egg, so let’s see if you can find it…
NAPP 3.7
Azalea (side and top): I just looked at some real life azaleas and based the design on that maintaining the vanilla colors
Flowering azalea (side and top): Same as the above but with flowers🌻
Candles (x16 color variations): For this, I started a little too strong on the dripping wax side, but thanks to the feedback I tuned it down a bit and it now works much better. All the colors have been matched one by one to resemble vanilla ones
Candles lit (x16 color variations): A tricky one. I tested both with and without emissive textures. I ended up using a mask for the top part and exposition to simulate the lighting on the candle!
Rooted dirt: a variation of the original dirt but with some reddish roots in between. I would have preferred another tone for the roots but I used the vanilla one
new Smooth stone: As everyone can see, I'm remaking all stone-based materials to catch up with the quality of all of the last blocks. Smooth stone was a long time coming one, and I love the new one! Thanks to everyone who participated in the little polls who let me know which variation was preferred!
NAPP 3.8
Spore blossom/Base: Spore blossom is divided in two separate textures, one’s the leaf base and the other are the petals. It was very tricky to create a convincing shape because of how Minecraft overlaps the petals (check progress to know more). Shaping the leaves was hard too since organic and natural textures are outside my area of my expertise so... I'm trying my best here!
Big dripleaf top/tip: Another natural texture I had to fight with... But I'm pretty happy with it! The trickiest part was to make the tip texture as natural as possible. I know that the bending looks weird but.. it's Minecraft, everything is 90º.
Smooth basalt: I actually worked hard on this one. Instead of just making the smooth basalt texture, I created a complex graph to quickly create procedural stone surfaces for the future.
And that's it! Don't hesitate to give me all the feedback you may have on the feedback channel on the Discord server!
The stuff that I mentioned earlier that I have been working on is about the road map; I’ve been creating a system on Substance that allows me to render all the new textures “automatically” to create the interactive road map on the web page that is going to be upgraded with each new update. This took me some time to set up, but I think it is necessary and it is worth the effort.
Thank you all for all the support and also for keeping this project alive!
Love you all

Sorry if this has been mentioned elsewhere but are any of these compatible with v1.18?
