11/08/21 DEV_LOG - NAPP 3.1 and NAPP 3.2 UPDATES!!!

Hi folks!
Due to my impeccable organization skills, I forgot💀 to announce the last update (3.1) so i’ll combine the two in this DEV_LOG. Let’s see what’s new:
NAPP 3.1 Update
NEW BLOCKS
- Ancient debris: I went for the original game description, raw and rough metal sheets put together. I really like the top design, it is a very cool pattern for floors and ornaments!
- Glowstone: For the glowstone I tried a crystal-look, and I think it works really well.
- Lodestone: Very fun block to make. At first I was kinda stuck with the design, but I came back after a few days and it went smoothly. I love the stone/netherite mix.
- Shroomlight: Here I tried a similar style of the nether wart, also very close to the vanilla design. You can't tell them apart from the distance
- Respawn anchor: My god this was difficult. A block with 3 different textures (top, side and bottom), and with 4 different stages... and the top was animated (9 different iterations), and the vanilla design was so vague.... This block has been the most difficult one of the whole pack so far, but the result is worth it... I truly like it.
FIXES
- 1.17 changes: Dirt path file name changed so now it works with the new version. If you are using any other older version, the fix is pretty easy. Go to the pack folder, to assets\minecraft\textures\block and there change all the dirt_path_x files to grass_path_x.
Overall, this last update may not "seem like much" but.. trust me, the difficulty was top notch on this one.
Also, if you are wondering about the End chest and the Spawn block: the End chest will come in the End update, given that most of the materials and the resources will be reused for them.
For its part, I want to try a new technique with the Spawn block, so it will probably take some time to figure it out.
NAPP 3.2 Update
NEW BLOCKS
- Amethyst block: A very pleasant block to make. It was really satisfying to recreate the ‘nebulosa-like’ colors of the purple crystals.
- Calcite block: It was very difficult to recreate this translucid block as there are no viable options to achieve translucence in regular blocks. But I think the geometric patterns on this texture and the overall feel is on point.
- Dripstone block: Cool and weird block to design, it looks like a c h o n k y cube of stalactite.
- Moss block: I made sure for this one that the pattern repetition was as natural and invisible as possible. Very mushy looking fella.
- Powder snow: Not the most thrilling block to design, but it was made with the same care and detail as it is the rest!
FIXES
- Fixed sand specular and normal map (I noticed some errors when I opened it trying to find a solution for the metallic lines glitch)
- Weird metallic lines error FIXED (finally, it was driving me crazy, the problem was a faulty respawn anchor specular map clipping in the texture atlas)
And that's it! So much overlapped work (the new website, the 3.0 release, all the social media creativities, etc) but all (finally!!) done!
I hope you all enjoy this new stuff, and don't forget to give me all the feedback you may have on the #feedback channel on the Discord server!
Love you all
