Important Notice + Bioasshard DevReport

Hello everyone!

It’s been a long time since the last post and we apologize for that. We’ve been (and are) busy as hell not only with Bioasshard but with other stuff as well, like setting the office up and ready for work (which is almost complete; at about 95% right now).

There are a few key points we’d like to talk about on this post, so let’s begin:

First thing first, if you know/follow other creators in here, you’ll probably have heard/read (about) this before, this website is going crazy lately, with so many pages closed without noticing the creators or even giving any real reasons…

In the past few months, we’ve seen this happening too frequently to ignore it.

You’re the ones to keep us alive, so you can imagine the fear to wake up one day and find the page closed and with no way to inform you through here.

We know it’s a pain in the *ss to go and create an account in the other website and stuff but we’ve been left with no other choice but to ask that to you. We would honestly love if you could consider moving there, that would mean no absurd rules/guidelines and no limitation to our creative freedom.

Just in case you don’t know the other website we’re talking about, it’s the one you can find linked first in our twitter or the one you get redirected to if you press the “Support” option in the Bioasshard Arena 1.0 Main Menu.

And since as mentioned there is total creative freedom over there, we’re already planning on some content that’ll be exclusive to it.

Aside from that, we’re also looking to make accounts on other websites to have as backups (and to serve as more choices for you) just in case stuff happens and to avoid being isolated in just one or two places.

In the line of the worst case happening and being unable to contact you from here, we’re also making a backup list of our members, so we can, just in case something happens, contact you through email. And we’d also like to encourage you to follow us (or any other creator you follow) on other networks (twitter, websites, blog, etc.) not only through here.

One of the other networks where you can follow us is discord; where we’re planning to make deep changes, but more on this on future posts, but we want it to make it a better place for everyone (and also try our best to be more active as well).

Now on to Bioasshard,

First and foremost, since the Arena is over and now it’s the time for the Game, we want to change the approach with the DevReports (and this applies not only to Bioasshard but to any other project). Instead of walls of texts every two or more weeks with secrets and stuff, we want to try to keep you posted more frequent with less to none text in exchange of visual content: screenshots, videos and talking openly about what we’re working on instead of “new secret feature you’ll have to wait and see when the release is made”, what do you think? Please let us know below if you’d prefer this over the old approach.

And before saying goodbye with all this wall of text we made you read (sorry <3), I’ll update you on the current state of Bioasshard and the conversion to UE5.

This update is still on the old approach, basically because there’s no screenshot or video to take of this process apart from a bunch of errors -like hundreds of them-.

As I suspected, things weren’t going to be as smooth as Epic tells when converting a project from UE4 to UE5. Right now, there’s just a wall of red text in the log with countless errors and another one full of yellow warnings that are practically errors as well because they also prevent me from even testing anything.

Since they deprecated the classic input system used in UE4, I’m right now adapting it to the new Enhanced Input System while fixing any other error I find through. The thing is that this new system they call “Enhanced” is already presenting some lacks like no way of knowing the currently pressed key by default or giving no easy way to know the key associated with an action making it -and until I can look deeper at it- impossible to show the correct button icon when interacting with something for example…

I’ll keep working on the conversion and hope it’s worth all this work and don’t end up regretting leaving UE4. Apart of this we’ll be working on some stuff we can show the next time (cough character cough)

Now, before leaving, I want to ask you one more thing: Would you be interested in watching us stream while we work? Please, let us know below as well.

Well, that’s all for today!

Love you all and see you next time!

Ok, let me see if I got this right (got a bit confused sorry), so you found the other site and became a supporter in there is that right? If that is the case and you're asking wether or not you have to keep the pledge active in here, the answer is no, you don't have to. Maybe I'm not getting what you're asking (this is the part that confused me 😓 "any way i could get it moved to that account or do i just need to wait") and if that's the case, please let me know, I'm a bit dense right now 😅

Thank you for answering and for the amazing feedback. Those sound like good ideas (we really need to get good in making streams to be able to make that, that's for sure 😂). And the rewards for watching the streams also sound a very good incentive to attract more people.

I whole heartedly agree with whats been already said above, the only thing I would add, is in additon to polls possibly makng google feedback sheets with ideas people would like to see in game, bugs they have found etc. you could then read those in the live streasm and give live feedback, making for better streaming content and connecting with your audience. last you might also add some sort of bonus to watching the stream.. could be some basic cards that give money for upgrades, add temporary special effects to weapons like burning, stuns, etc. have fun with it, we will pick up on it and reciprocate
