Vivian and I met up in Phoenix in late January and went out east of town toward Saguaro Lake. It was early enough that the lake wasn't too busy. In the summer it's very crowded since it's really close to Phoenix. We shot some around the lake and then when the people started showing up, we moved to the desert. This location is right off the highway but remote enough that unless you're really looking you won't see the model. This was Vivian's first time to the Sonoran Desert and she loved it. I lived in Phoenix for many years, and I also love the desert, maybe not as much as the mountains in Wyoming. This time of year the temperature was perfect for running around the desert in the buff. The snakes aren't that active, but you do have to watch for them. We only met one other person on this trail. He was taking his dog for a run and didn't hang around while Vivian and I shot. Vivian of course was the perfect model. Her dance background gives her that long lean body, couple with her long legs makes her a beautiful subject. She and I first worked together when she had just started modeling. She has come a long way since that first shoot, and I like to think that my photography has also improved since our first shoot.
