General rambling and thoughts on 0.6
Added 2020-09-21 11:22:34 +0000 UTCOkay, now that 0.5 is more or less out of the way, time to turn my attention to what happens next.
I'm going to take a few days break from working on this (although I'll probably still be playing around with images!) to recharge my batteries a little. Practically every spare minute I've had over the past 11 months - it's scary how fast the time has gone! - has been spent working on the game, and I really need a week or so off to think about other stuff for a change :)
I see 0.6 as going one of two ways. Either continuing as is... more story, etc... or as going back to the start of the game and adding all the little bits that I never had time for and/or hadn't thought of at that point. I'm thinking of a couple of new replayable scenes, as well as additions and tweaks to some of the other stuff to hopefully make things a little less repetitive. Quite a few of you have asked that I slow the pace of the game down a bit, especially during the (current) latter stages), so this would be an ideal opportunity to address this at the same time.
I'm leaning towards adding more content to the existing game. It's something I definitely want to do, and the longer I leave it, the more there'll be to add! Will give it some thought over the next few days, but if anyone has any opinions, suggestions, etc. on this, please feel free to chip in :)
And finally, apologies again if you messaged me, either here or elsewhere, about 0.5 and I didn't reply. I was absolutely swamped with messages and although I do read every one, I simply didn't have time to reply to them all.

I think going back and reconfiguring and adjusting the overall experience would be best for it right now! You don't have to rush to the finish, so tweak as you please!

2020-09-25 11:45:49 +0000 UTCI'm torn, obviously going back and adding more scenes is just going to make for a better game experience, but man if you didn't leave Hannah and Becca at infuriatingly good narrative moments. At the end of the day, you've done a great job so far, so whatever you decide is gonna be great. Even if the wait is gonna kill me 😂

2020-09-23 13:41:02 +0000 UTCI like the idea of adding additional scenes to the early game as the next update. I, too, would prefer a slightly boosted wage increase (and maybe a slightly lower gain speed to compensate), but even as it stands now I haven't actually run out of money completely at any point.

2020-09-22 15:26:28 +0000 UTCMy only suggestion to improve the game is to maybe increase the base wage of work to make money management less tedious and/or increase the time spent for the action to compensate for the increased wage. The amount of clicking for money is partly the reason why I let my cash drop to thousands in depth my last playthrough lol. Enjoy your break, Tigger!

2020-09-22 15:10:47 +0000 UTCMaybe... if the MC wins the lottery :p
2020-09-22 08:13:01 +0000 UTCI will (probably!) add a gallery to the final version so that you can look at all the images (and see any that you may have missed). But an in-game facility to look at the pictures that Alice and Hannah send throughout the game is a nice idea. I may see what I can do with this one :)
2020-09-22 08:12:15 +0000 UTCYeah, this would probably be the easier route, but the longer I leave it, the more work there'll be to do, and once I finish the actual story, I'll probably be too fed up of the whole thing to want to go back to the start and begin revising stuff :p Plus, this'll give everyone the perfect incentive to start a new game and greatly improve the chances of allowing old savesgames to work with future versions.
2020-09-22 08:09:10 +0000 UTCIf you are planning on revisiting the older content, a much needed feature is a way to preview the previously gotten photos sent by both Alice an Hanna. It would be great to look back at the progress of these characters and it is a shame you can only view these pictures again via new play throughs.

2020-09-22 04:10:26 +0000 UTCI feel like if you were to refine/add on to existing content it might be better done after all the new content has been added so it can be done all in one go as opposed to somewhere where it might be refining content, adding new content then going back to refining but either way would ultimately be fine.

2020-09-21 21:40:55 +0000 UTCI'm not sure it would really be grindy though. What makes people feel that something is grindy is repetition. If earlier scenes had more variations and options people might not find themselves repeating identical situations as often. Although also I found that the game isn't actually that grindy when being replayed, on my first playthrough I was awful and I think it took me around 240 days or so to beat 0.5, but I think if you were playing perfectly you could do it in under 100 (at least with negative money still being off). A lot of my favorite events in the game are the ones that are slightly rare, like the post-pub half naked pizza stuffing, or the getting caught in the rain event, or the event where you go running and get sweaty. The new shopping scene in 0.5 is pretty great too. A few more scenes like that might change people's opinions on how grindy the opening act is. Or heck maybe a few new ambush styles for the park. I rather liked the new park ambush in 0.5, but in general I think more ambushes added to earlier sections of the game could also help it feel less grindy. One central premise of the grind is the laser focus the player has to have on gym and phone/text ambushes. So, adding another ambush avenue could really mix things up. Maybe a pub ambush (although you'd need a reason to care about the pub before this would make sense). Although, really, for me, whatever @tiggertoo has the most pent up ideas that he wants to add to the story, that's what I want to see, regardless of where it falls in the plot timeline. I'm just trying to think of examples of ways that small additions earlier on in the timeline could be meaningful towards improving the story.

2020-09-21 20:31:10 +0000 UTCI think the difficulty lies in making more content without changing the story. Because clearly you can add more fetish content after she's accepted gaining weight but adding that content to the beginning is more difficult. Because I think the last thing we want to do is just add content to just have more content because that's more grindy than substantive.

2020-09-21 18:59:20 +0000 UTCFirst of all, you have created something that blows my mind. It is absolutely amazing. Seeing as how it's your baby feel free to take it in any direction you want. My own opinion would be to continue on the story, but that's just because I'm one of those people that NEEDS to know what happens after a cliff hanger. But again, I'll be thrilled for new content of any kind. For something like this any wait is worth it.

2020-09-21 17:48:07 +0000 UTCOoh, another dilemma for MC that just came to me (last one for now, I won't spam this comment section >w<): 3) What if when cooking Alice dinner, despite all the extra portions her appetite can't be sated and MC risks sharing his own dinner in the process (could trigger if your cooking skill is too high). Either the player can relent to Alice's rapacious greed or draw a boundary to try and curb her greed a little. Going hungry for MC means starting with slightly less energy the next day.

2020-09-21 16:56:06 +0000 UTCA couple of ideas came to mind as side-choices for the player from the 0.5 content: 1) During a stint in the office, Becca pulls you aside at some point and has a quiet word with MC that Alice's latest attire (the skimpy beer t-shirt) may be a little unsuitable for the office. She won't prohibit Alice from visiting, but she hints that MC may want to have a word with her to dress a little more appropriately for the workplace, in case HR decide to cause problems for MC. This gives the player the effective choice of deciding what Alice should wear in MC's office- either swap to her work outfit (Alice would just visit MC from work now) or ignore Becca and let her stick with the casual attire (with possible consequences from dreaded HR!). 2) Alice is still a little new to the whole "feedee" thing so is a little unsure as to how "full-on" she should be. She's happy with either playing fully into the feedee role or dialling it back a notch- whatever MC (and the player) prefers. This gives players the choice whether Alice should rein in some of the piggy references and alters dialogue slightly for certain scenes. No real picture changes required. For players who like a more toned-down feeder experience.

2020-09-21 15:53:18 +0000 UTCOne key thing I want to point out about negative money and alice paying for dates is that in 0.5 the MC's income with his maximum salary is high enough that you don't actually need alice to pay for dates. Unless there are new money costs added to the game, from very lame ones like (higher rent which is easy to implement but boring)... or new scenes with higher costs (Make going to the pub cost more if you're going to each drink 9 beers, instead of 4...etc..)... or random events that can make you gain/lose money like robbery/gambling/orsomesuch... In other words... I wouldn't worry about penalizing the player for negative money, because it's too easy to maintain positive money for that to really matter anyways. Although if alice started paying for dates in 0.6 or (0.5 after an 0.6 update to it)... the MC could stop going to work as often, which could be fun. Although going to work doesn't actually consume a large amount of the players time, it just consumes a lot of the main characters time. Hence my idea of potentially gating some of rebecca's content behind some sort of stat like total days worked. It would give the player a reason to go to work even if they didn't need the money, because alice was paying for some of the dates. I'm just brainstorming here. Honestly, even if the money never becomes a major gameplay mechanic the game is just fine. A light veneer of worrying about money is compelling enough for the story to be told.

2020-09-21 15:02:25 +0000 UTCI won't be slowing down the early stages too much. They already take a lot of time to work through! But yeah, adding more dialogue to the existing scenes is something that I'd like to do.
2020-09-21 14:26:59 +0000 UTCI think if you are going to slow down the game, it is better to add more dialog choices to each scene. The cafe scenes can have an infinite amount of bad jokes. Walking to the duck pond can have 5 random dialogs instead of two etc... I think going back and working on dialog at your own pace will also let you recharge your batteries while still making the game better. No, rendering 24/7 will be a relief.
2020-09-21 14:10:16 +0000 UTCThe only reason not to do both is that apparently some people have been messaging him to complain about savegame compatibility and by grouping as many savegame breaking changes as possible into a single update you can release as many other savegame compatible releases as possible. Personally I don't care about savegame compatibility at all. Apparently some people do? Not sure if that's a common opinion or a vocal minority?

2020-09-21 13:15:47 +0000 UTCI'm not ruling anything out, but the full blown harem route is unlikely. I'd have to add the same amount of content for each of the other girls as there currently is for Alice. It'd take months! Not to mention hugely increasing the size of the game, and I'm already getting a few people saying that they're having issues downloading it all in one go. I'm leaning more and more towards revisiting the earlier stages of the game and adding more stuff. It's definitely something I want to do, and as I said earlier, the longer I leave it, the more there'll be to do. I have quite a few ideas for this, and I already have the next part of the story worked out, so I can go either way. I'm inspired for both! :) The pub is one of the areas that would get looked into. I've been meaning to add more to this for some time. To be honest, Alice was supposed to start paying for some of the dates in 0.5, but it's one of the things that I simply didn't have time to implement, even though I'd already started work on some of the images for this. This'll be added in 0.6 :) The negative money also needs addressing, as right now, you can go thousands into the red with no penalty. I did think about both adding to the existing game AND some new story for 0.6, but I'm unsure at this point. I have no idea currently how long it'll take me to add all the bits and pieces that I'm thinking about and I don't want to have the next version taking way longer than usual to complete.
2020-09-21 13:14:41 +0000 UTCTigg, you have been nothing short of an superstar with this game. I believe you deserve more than a few days to recharge. If I was to give input on the next update, I would say why not a bit of both? Adding some new material such as a new location or tighten up current mechanics of locations like the gym, pub, mall or park. As well as adding a bit more to the end like more progress with Hannah or Becca and not so much Alice (just thinking they require less time rather than our love and heroine Alice) what do you think about this idea?

2020-09-21 12:55:07 +0000 UTCI'm down for a full replay with added early scenes for 0.6... or progressing the main story further. I think you need to work on whatever you're most inspired to create, whatever you have the most ideas for. Heck, maybe even jot some ideas down for both, see which list comes out longer. As far as concrete ideas, I'd like to see there be some reason to click on the pub, as currently there just isn't one. If there isn't any reason to click on it, maybe put a sign up (don't waste effort making a visual sign) so that if you do click on the pub it just says something like the pub is currently closed and dumps you back to the main screen. Before I realized the pub was unused as a destination I probably clicked on it 100 times hoping for a gym/park style random encounter. Another idea that might be nice would be more ways to lose and/or gain money. Maybe the MC could be robbed (if debt a game over, it might be nice to force the player into debt as part of either a story event or a random chance in a repeatable scene via a loss of money beyond what is normally expected). Or maybe Alice will actually start paying for some of the dates after she gets her good job. Although if you go to her office and ask her out to lunch is that a date she pays for? If so, maybe that counts. Maybe add gambling to the pub? I know that being below 0 dollars doesn't matter during development, but I'm assuming in the finished game it will matter, and it might be nice if it had more tie-ins. Essentially right now, the best money making life-hack is to get coffee once a day. Expanding on the previous comment about "harem route". I'm not sure it would have to be a "route". A few concrete ideas though for how to expand their roles though. First thing it might be possible to give hannah and/or rebecca some stat tracking variables, that might be a lot of work, but it might not, if you don't actually create many/any new scenes for them. Either something like relating rebecca's weight to how often you go to work (since that's the only place you see her now, but if there were other places to see her, sure then that'd matter more)... or if you don't want to track weight for the side-girls one thing that might be nice to track would be some sort of how much attention are you paying to hannah stat, so that potentially if you ignore hannah too much she starts smoking, which might cause your progress with her to go backwards, but wouldn't need any new scenes nessassarily, or at least maybe not more than one scene. Part of the main game with alice is that you can have negative progress which can result in replaying some scenes, although alice has so many variables that sometimes when you do have negative progress you'll get new dialogue. Essentially it might be nice if rebecca/hannah had more parrelel dialogue options, as it is right now both of their storylines are entirely linear. It's probably a lot more writing work to add variations, but it would be a good way to expand their storylines with writing work as opposed to visual work. Right now almost every interaction with hannah/rebecca is always entirely new art. And on the concept of a harem route specifically, the way you have it setup right now is such that you can just rebuke hannah and rebecca's advances and then you won't end up getting their advanced scenes. Essentially anyone who doesn't want to cheat on alice already doesn't have to.

2020-09-21 12:28:39 +0000 UTCIt would be a good call to add new scenes to the existing weight stages so when the game is finished it looks more polished overall

2020-09-21 12:10:08 +0000 UTCSomething that I think you should add is a harem route so you can have a romantic relationship with Alice, Becca, and Hannah simultaneously. It would certainly be interesting.
