Future demos.
Added 2019-12-05 18:29:09 +0000 UTCFirstly, huge thanks to all those who have signed up! Every penny that this game makes is being poured into the assets that I use to create images :)
As you know, as of next month, the demos will initially be Patreons only. Unless anyone has any better suggestions, I'm planning on uploading a Patreon test version roughly at the start of each month (January may slip a little due to Christmas and new year). I'll allow a week for people to test the demo and report any bugs that they find, and then upload a (hopefully!) stable Patreon demo.
Some time after this (I'm thinking maybe two weeks?), I'll then make the demo free to everyone.
What do you guys think?

I'm certainly going to do that for the January demo. After that, I may go along with the excellent suggestion from Elias Noche of making the current version Patreons only, and publicly releasing that version when the next version is ready.
2019-12-07 09:41:56 +0000 UTCI think two weeks in the rears for a free demo is pretty reasonable. Like I said before though. I would definitely try to keep the game as free and open to the public as you possibly can so it gets shared and hopefully spurs up more interest.

2019-12-06 03:29:52 +0000 UTCAnother good idea! I may well do that as well :)
2019-12-05 22:09:59 +0000 UTCI did consider this, but I actually have a fairly good idea of where the game is going (honest!) and if people are paying to make suggestions then they're gonna feel let down if I don't incorporate them. And thank you for the kind words. Really does mean a lot to me :)
2019-12-05 22:00:01 +0000 UTCYou might consider making image previews or just making some random images as a 1 dollar tier for people who want to support the game but don't maybe have that much money. The current five dollar tier is just fine though.

2019-12-05 21:59:25 +0000 UTCThat's not at all a bad idea! I may well do that. That ties in with my desire to keep the game free for everyone, whilst encouraging Patreons. Thanks!
2019-12-05 21:58:37 +0000 UTCAnd, as a side (since your game is building up to be really f*cking awesome!!!) it might be a good idea to open a higher tier ($10, $20+) to run polls and accept development suggestions to incorporate in-game. :)

2019-12-05 21:50:37 +0000 UTCSounds good. As a fellow game developer, I know that a lot of money might go into the process and people might not be as eager to contribute if they'll get the game anyway eventually... In view of that, I'd rather recommend that you follow what this guy is doing (https://www.patreon.com/anonynn). Basically, you release v.1.1. for patreons and make v.1.0 free; then, in a month or more, when you have completed v.1.2., you release that for patreons and open v.1.1. to the public. (And so on and so on). That way, there's an incentive for Patreons to stay and you can interest those who are not Patreons yet.
