Welcome!

If you've got this far, thanks for taking an interest! I've been working on this game for just over a month now, and progress has been steady. In that time, the concept has shifted from straightforward linear visual novel to a much more complex dating sim.
The graphics have taken a massive leap forward. From the original simple sprites over placeholder backgrounds (cafe1) to more detailed sprites overlaid on pre-rendered backgrounds (cafe 2). I then took the decision to render all the images as complete scenes (cafe 3). Vastly more time-consuming to render, but allowing me to use a lot of different angles and props, as well as drastically improving the lighting and shadows. I've already re-rendendered most of the original images and I'm adding new elements all the time.
I'll be uploading the current demo, if you can call it a demo - more of a pre-alpha alpha, after I've finished this post. It's at an extremely early stage, but gives an idea of where the game will be going. I should stress that, at this point, there's no visual weight gain in there yet. It's more to give a flavour of how the game will feel, rather than an example of the finished product. I think it's important to get as much of the base game up and running as I can before I start branching off on different tangents.
As I mentioned on the front page, I'm not looking to make a fortune out of this. So, with that in mind, I'm not going to slap the game behind a paywall. For the foreseeable future, it'll be free. That said,  I am outlaying a fair bit of money on 3D assets for the game, so I'd like to cover that. I'll probably  create a tier where patreons get early access to the latest version, but other than that, it'll be donations only, for the time being.
So, if you like the sound of where this is going, download the demo and join the ride!
There are a couple of bugs in the demo, but they only occur towards the end, so if you hit them, don't worry. You're not missing much! I'm my own one-man testing team (and as an ex-programmer, I know how easy it is to miss bugs when you're testing your own work), so it's inevitable that I'm going to miss stuff.
