I’ve often wondered how audio RP VAs really feel about their audience. I’ve tried looking for interviews or outsider commentary on the medium, but it’s so niche that it’s very difficult to find anything relevant. This at least gives me hope that you don’t all secretly despise us. Thank you.

I started listening to this genre of stuff after hitting a bunch of lows — big breakup, break from school, new meds, super out of shape… it kind of just falls upon you to figure out what your next steps are, what direction to go and then get yourself to start moving. I’ve made good progress on some things, less progress on others, and probably not as much as I’d like in everything, but I’m happy to be closer to where I want to be than I was a year ago & before finding audios.

2025-01-09 06:16:21 +0000 UTCI like to believe that nobody listens to these for the long term without the intention of one day picking himself back up onto his feet; it feels more like a coping tool to make your day-to-day struggles easier while giving you hope or inspiration or what have you that there is love and beauty in the world, in abundance, and plenty of it is meant for you; it’s worth living for, it’s worth working towards, and it certainly isn’t an answer in itself but i hope it helps people while they gather themselves and find the necessary resources ie. support from friends & family, joining a community irl or online, or actively seeking mental health services to better themselves over time; even nsfw content can be meaningful, i think audios are actually a really cool means of “self-discovery” for trying out or finding new kinks you didn’t know you had, without requiring you to first live through it and have the chance of failure/rejection; that kind of stuff hopefully pays off in the future by increasing our own self-awareness and the extent to which we know ourselves influences our ability to communicate

And it's not a knock on VAs..most of them are wonderful and very talented..and I want your success but I wonder about the long term for "the good boys"
