The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

Comments

bruh she be taking notes but i love the way klaire watches these, some of the best films of all time

Willm

Ummm, how did you know Gollum's name is Smeagol? 😂

PP901

Yes! It goes as follows: The Silmarillion -> The Hobbit -> The Lord of The Rings And yes, that's definitely like a Star Wars situation. Lord of the Rings was released first, The Hobbit later on and ... We still don't have The Silmarillion. The book is massive and also complicated to read but what a lovely ride. It's such a blast.

Just started to watch but at minute 9:00 you're making some considerations and your logic is very sound. Very, very good. At 17:40 -> this is filmed in nature, yes! It's all filmed in New Zealand(95%). And some parts in Switzerland(?) and Canada. Also the village of The Shire, the set, was left there for tourists to go visit! And yes, you feel like a giant there. Just look at some photos!

i don’t really know what to tell you about this one. the volume of the movie was turned up to 100 and i was just talking. sorry you had an issue with it

Klaire Green

Klaire, love the reactions but you need to sort the sound levels out! I have to turn it up so loud to hear the film, and then when you react it’s deafeningly loud! 😂 So i end up constantly turning it up and down!!

Mehhh. I was gonna watch this but then I realised you said you're gonna split it in parts. That's a big no for me, especially for Patreon, cos now I have to wait for the next post if I want to watch the whole thing together. For YouTube - sure split the uploads, but this is Patreon and personally I don't subscribe to any creator that splits movie reactions on this platform (possibly I'm in the minority). Of course you might need to take a break (i get it, it's 3 freaking hours long), but the uploads here should be a continuous post, IMO. I just completed your entire channel in like 2 days and enjoyed all of your reactions. I hope the rest of your movie reactions aren't split like this, cos it kinda ruins the experience, well for me anyways. Just a tip, I don't mean to add any negativity or anything, just something constructive maybe to help you with building and improving your platform. Other than that, keep up the good work and enjoy the remainder of your weekend mate :)

Hope you enjoy your journey Klaire!

KWWAAAARR instant click when I saw this on my feed. Glad you’re enjoying it so far K, they’re my favourite set of films. Looking forward to next week’s drop. I’ve just joined the discord and followed your insta. I think your channels will blow up in subs with the content you’re bringing out now and in the future!

Just a fun little fact for you. The actor Christopher Lee , who plays Saruman (Count Dooku in Star Wars) has lived quite a life. He’s the only one in the lord of the rings movies that met and spoke to Tolkien, I believe Tolkien said if they made a movie about lord of the rings he wanted Lee to play Gandalf. Almost married into the Swedish Royal Family, only leaving because he believed he couldn’t give her stability due to his career. Met the people who assassinated Rasputin Was an intelligence officer in world war 2. Spoke a bunch of different languages and he might’ve been one of the inspirations of James Bond (not 100% sure about this) but he was the step cousin to the man who created James Bond. Also released heavy metal albums in his 80s/90s And a bunch of other stuff. Like if there is a god and he had a favourite it was this man lol

Ethan

Fun fact at 1:10:38 that's Peter Jackson the director of the films!

Apologies if you put things together as you go on just commenting as I watch Bilbo is having his life extended by the Ring as mentioned with Gollum 'the ring gave gollum unnatural long life' he doesn't look old because it's slowed his aging down. The hobbit book came out first and this was a sequel to it. The hobbit is a short book and more of a children's story. They jumped straight into the more interesting story first with LOTR then made films of The Hobbit years later. The stories Bilbo tells are about his adventures in The Hobbit where he is the main character.

Also the deal with Aragorn and Arwen is that elves can basically choose to give up their immortality if they want to, and she wants to do that to be with Aragorn. Even though he's human, as he's a descendant of Isildur he's from a particular race of men who are mortal but live longer than 'normal' men like Boromir. For context I think Arwen is meant to be like 2500 years old and Aragorn about 90 years old at this time - hell of an age gap 😅

the movies are mostly newbie friendly, they answer a lot of your questions as they go, taking some notes isnt a bad idea though

Boromir (the guy who tries to take the ring and Gandalf stops him) is the son of the Steward of Gondor who is basically like the Hand of the King in Game of Thrones. The line of kings died out some time after Isildur and Aragon is a very distant descendant. The stewards of Gondor have basically ruled since the line of kings ended, which is why Boromir is suspicious of Aragorn and says that Gondor needs no king, he basically doesn't think he's worthy and his father would essentially have to give up power if Aragorn became King.

whats on your pizza!

Klaire Green

I'll try answering some of your questions as we go! I don't remember the exact number but Gollum had the ring for hundreds of years. Originally he was a race similar to Hobbits - it's shown in the third movie. In this world Wizards are not a profession like in Baldur's Gate - they are their own race called Istari - there are only 5 of them. They aren't human - Gandalf is thousands of years old.

Pizza has been ordered let's go 🤗

ahhhhhh thank you wise one!! new zealand makes sense

Klaire Green

EVERYONE SAYS THAT 😭😭😭

Klaire Green

The three rings made by the Elves are not affected by the one ring. Gollum's origin is shown later in the trilogy. Yes, Martin Freeman plays young Bilbo in the Hobbit movies. Tolkien died in 1973, so didn't help with the production It is filmed in New Zealand. The Hobbit village is real and people can go visit it

Are you eating with a ladle? 🤣 biggest spoon I've seen in my life!
