I didn’t like Friday night dinner. It felt like forced comedy to me and just not really that funny. If you don’t enjoy it then no I wouldn’t continue watching just for the viewers!

2025-09-23 17:58:52 +0000 UTCAnd looking at the comments, seems you and half the patreoners aren't that convinced by it either. Personally I don't think it's just this episode, the last two didn't set the world on fire either.

2025-09-23 17:56:24 +0000 UTCI just stopped watching at 7:25, I think this show is pretty weak. It's not thaaat bad, but when shows like inbetweeners and extras exist, I'm not sure what the point is in 80% of everything else.

2025-09-23 17:53:55 +0000 UTCDefinitely think it's worth sticking with it, at least until the end of the season and then see if you feel like carrying on after that

2025-09-23 12:49:50 +0000 UTCI'm another one who doesn't like this episode very much, or Friday Night Dinner in general anymore. I actually did watch and find it reasonably enjoyable when it first aired, and it's not without some very funny gags, but as time has gone on I've found it increasingly repetitive, and a bit twee and puerile. There's other things about it that I now find slightly hard to stomach but I won't go into them here. And I hate to be a downer, I have tried, I don't know if it's that my view has changed or if it just doesn't have much rewatch value. Not that my opinion should sway you or anyone else either way because I'm now viewing it from a very different standpoint, and I'm clearly in a minority here. But you aren't alone in not liking the episode.

2025-09-20 20:48:15 +0000 UTCKlaire, if you don’t like something then I would like to think all of us watching with you, would rather you stop watching and try something else instead. There’s too many series of “Friday Night Dinner” to sit through just because you know others like it, but you’re not vibing with it. End of the day, our enjoyment comes from watching you enjoy something. If you’re not enjoying something, we don’t want you to keep watching out of some form of loyalty to us. Maybe you could consider another poll or perhaps you might like to try Ricky Gervais’ “The Office,” which you’ve said you want to watch, and which many of your Patreon members (myself included) can’t wait for you to see?

2025-09-20 19:43:18 +0000 UTCIf the rest of season 1 is as bad then you should at least take a break from it I think. Really enjoyed your Ricky Gervais show reaction and Peep Show's gotten better lately!

2025-09-20 18:31:42 +0000 UTCIf you don’t get to THE episode in Season 5 I’d be pretty sad. I think like a lot of UK comedies, it takes a little while to get into it and the later series are MUCH better than the first or second series. But obviously if you’re still not enjoying it as time goes on, don’t force yourself. You’ll find something else you’ll enjoy I’m sure. There’s so many options out there!

2025-09-20 08:17:33 +0000 UTCthat’s how i felt about peep show and i love it now! i’m going to stick it out. i’m glad you appreciate the realness, im incapable of telling a lie 😂😅

2025-09-20 05:31:20 +0000 UTCit’s not horrible i just see the reuse of everything a bit dead end as of now, but there’s still many directions it could go!

2025-09-20 05:29:41 +0000 UTCIf something isn’t for you, then I’d say bin it off. Give it a chance by all means, but after say the first series/season you still can’t get into it, then I’d say bin it off. No point if YOU aren’t enjoying it too. Alternative classic British comedies/shows you really need to give a go are Fawlty Towers and Auf Wiedersehen Pet.

2025-09-19 19:42:09 +0000 UTCHa love you trying to subtly back out of this series 😂. For me, FND is fine, but it’s kind of slow, very character based and kind of bland. There’s much better uk sitcoms out there - Inbetweeners, IT crown, Office, Father Ted, etc.

2025-09-19 19:33:41 +0000 UTCAppreciate you being honest about not being a fan of this episode. Gives a more genuine reaction. Too many reactors have fake reactions and pretend they love everything which isn't realistic. Personally I think if your not a fan of a show it would be better to give it up, as watching you spend 37 weeks not enjoying something wouldn't be fun for us or you. But i think you should keep going for a few more weeks, I find with a lot of british comedys season one can quite often be weaker compared to the rest of the show. My advice would be decide at the end of season 2 how you feel

2025-09-19 16:29:43 +0000 UTCI reckon a season is enough time to know if you're into something or not, if its not for you I'd rather you stop and watch something else that you will enjoy personally
