Taking shrooms was very popular in Wales when I was in my teens/20's, partly because they're easily available as they're quite easy to find growing in the hills.

I see you're doing The Ricky Gervais Show on YT. Pretty sure that was the first podcast I ever listened to, it's hilarious and the animation adds so much. Shouldn't have any copyright worries with that show either, all the episodes have been up on YT for years.

Mushrooms were still semi-legal in the UK around the time this episode was made, or had only just been made completely illegal. There used to be a loophole that meant they were only illegal if they had been "prepared" (IE, dried or bagged) but not if they were fresh, so you could buy kits to grow them in head shops.
