2025-06-05 17:34:01 +0000 UTCAt times, I couldn’t tell if you were horrified or confused. When his colleague said he did WWII re enactments, my first thought was “he’s a racist, he probably likes dressing up as the Nazis”

2025-06-05 17:30:21 +0000 UTCThe reference to the "The sausage munching Bosch. Fritz, the bratwurst guzzler." is a reference to British stereotypes about Germans (the Bosch/Bosh?) dating back to the First World War. Mark is excited about the game with his new office colleague where the latter is flinging water containers down the stairs and talking about the Ruhr etc without mentioning The Dambusters, because it's an in-joke that would be funny to WW2 nerds (which probably includes most British men, including me!).

2025-06-05 17:25:45 +0000 UTCJeremy's recording session is disturbingly true to life. Gog's flat would have cost significantly less in 2003/4 when this was made, but a gentrification factory conversion like that would still have cost a pretty penny even then. You don't want to know what a place like that would cost in today's London. Seriously. Also, funny story about work bonding seshes: I once worked in a place where the manager decided one day to take the department to Pizza Express, and one of my colleagues looked at the menu outside and decided it was "too healthy". He was a man in his mid/late thirties who subsisted (or was it subsided?) on chicken nuggets, and had a bit of a predisposition for weird or inappropriate comments, although nothing on Darryl's level.

2025-06-05 17:17:06 +0000 UTCKlaire - what a treat for you (and us, watching your reaction). I'd forgotten just how much better series 2 is than series 1: Super Hans doing crack, Mark's Nazi work colleague - it's all kicking off!
